Do Abortions Hurt?

Abortion is uncomfortable regardless the method utilized.

Surgical abortion involves surgical tools that are inserted inside your vagina to the uterus.

You are given medicine to soften the cervix in order to make it easy for the tools to get to the uterus. When inserting those tools inside your vagina to the uterus it is often very uncomfortable. The only way to make you not feel this is by putting you to sleep. The problem is that this does not happen in every abortion clinic. Some abortion clinics do not have the necessary skills and financial muscle to get the required personnel. So for that reason they do it without putting you to sleep. This is makes it painful to do the surgical termination. The good thing is that surgical termination is quick if you are in your early weeks. The pregnancy tissue is quickly removed and it is all over in a very short time.

The bleeding is also mild and it will be mild for a few days.

Surgical abortion can also lead to mild cramping that is also uncomfortable. But this also does not last for a long time.

Medical termination on the other hand involves the usage of abortion medicine or some times known as the abortion pill. The abortion pill induces cramps in your uterus that expel the pregnancy tissue from your body.

The cramps can be painful. The best way to deal with the cramps is by putting a hot water bottle on stomach near the area that is hurting. This releaves the pain.

The good thing is that the cramps do not last for a long time. The moment your menstrual cycle starts the cramping often stops and you will quickly feel better.

There is one thing. Abortion is similar to giving birth naturally. It is uncomfortable and that is what all women go through. There is nothing to worry about. If you want to terminate you will go through this discomfort. If you give birth naturally you will go through the same discomfort. So, that is a woman’s life.
